I just want to say thank you to the men and women who provide my boys with stability and continuity from week to week. We joined last year and I am so proud of what my boys have achieved. Thank you so much to the wonderful volunteers to the leaders on the parade square every week. Without any of you this would not happen. Thank you for teaching my boys about the value of commitment and the discipline of routine. – Kalie Prince

OUR PROGRAM

Along with our partners, Department of National Defense, Branches and our sponsors, we deliver a dynamic program with a nautical theme to the youth of Alberta. We have two programs, the Navy League program, which is for youth ages 9-12 and the Sea Cadet program for youth ages 12-18. Both programs are where youth can be part of a team dedicated to promoting the physical and mental fitness of young men and women in the cadet program, to educate our youth in Leadership, Citizenship, Self-Discipline and Respect of Others.

We have a long history within Alberta and currently have twenty Sea Cadet Corps and eleven Navy League Corps located in various towns and cities across Alberta.

All corps meet weekly and offer many opportunities other than their regular parade nights. These could include options such as drill, music, biathlon, swimming, and sailing. Summer programs for Sea Cadets offer camps, international exchanges, sailing, and provide opportunities for Sea Cadets to earn money as staff cadets at various camps across Canada.

The parents and volunteers are a very important component of the programs as the responsibility for planning fundraising events lies within their purview. Their assistance with canteen, camps, and other activities is also valuable and necessary for the success of both programs.
